Dr. Jin Y. Kim has been a provider of professional dental continuing education through Dental Bureau of California (CE Provider Permit #RP 3731) since 1997. The educational institute, West Coast Dental Institute, is also designated an approved Program Provider by the California constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry. This Program Provider's formal CDE programs are accepted by the AGD for membership maintenance, Fellowship and Mastership credits.

Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Institute

 

 

Dr. Jin Kim is also a founding member of Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Institute (IDI), an academic study group formed in 2004 with the aim of advancing interdisciplinary treatment planning for complex dental patient cases, and to provide specialty services and advises to local practicing dentists.

 

The group meets every other month for case presentations and interdisciplinary treatment planning sessions. This group is unique in that general dentists may bring complex cases and seek advise and ideas on complex cases with specialists in all major clinical disciplines represented in the same forum.

    (second last Wednesdays of odd numbered months, 6pm. Venues TBA)

In March of 2008, the group organized an educational event where speakers Dr. Pat Allen and Dr. Robert Winter presented a full day lecture on 'Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Advanced Restorative Dentistry.'

 

For 2009, we are planning to bring world-renowned Dr. Pascal Magne to speak on restorative materials and cutting edge prosthodontic topics. Date and venue will be announced shortly (planned for October 2009).
